Pakistan’s Chinese Jets Face Test in Kashmir Skirmish

JF-17 Fighter Jets in Spotlight After LoC Clash

Islamabad, June 2025 – A recent military clash near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir has put the spotlight on Pakistan Air Force’s China-made fighter jets. These jets, especially the JF-17 Thunder, are now being closely examined for their performance in real combat situations.

The Pakistan Air Force used JF-17 Thunder jets during this limited aerial conflict. These fighter planes were built through a joint project between China and Pakistan and are known for being affordable compared to Western jets. They have been part of Pakistan’s air defense system for several years.

Although the jets completed their tasks during the incident, defense experts have mixed opinions. Some analysts believe the JF-17s are good but still not as advanced as India’s Rafale and Su-30 aircraft. They say the jets need better radar systems and stronger electronic warfare technology.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s military officials support the JF-17, saying it is dependable and fits the country’s defense needs. They mention that recent training and missions show the jets are fast, flexible, and perform well in short-range combat.

This event has also brought attention to the growing defense relationship between Pakistan and China. China has gradually given Pakistan different types of weapons, including drones, missiles, and warplanes.

As tensions in Kashmir remain high, experts say people will now closely watch how well Chinese-made military tools perform. This may also affect future defense deals, training plans, and power balance in the South Asian region.
